San Francisco And The Blue Angels
I stumbled across this article in my travels today. I was sickened and saddened. The article is about three anti-war groups that have their sites on stopping the Navy's Blue Angels from preforming in San Francisco this year. A performance that they had given every year since 1981 at Fleet Week. The reasons they are stating to support their attempt to oust the Angels from Fleet Week, and which organizations are they? See for yourself...
CodePink, Global Exchange and Veterans for Peace, Chapter 69, are working with Supervisor Chris Daly on a Board of Supervisors resolution expressing concerns about safety, fuel waste and noise pollution. They also are upset about the pro-military message and recruiting efforts that accompany Fleet Week, scheduled this year for Oct. 4-9.
I read stuff like this and think that they are systematically trying to destroy America one institution at a time, and hide behind the freedoms that this country, and it's military, have so generously provided. It makes me ill.
Blue Angels spokesman Lt. Cmdr. Garrett Kasper said Thursday night that Navy and Blue Angels officials do not yet have an official response to the controversy.
My thoughts on a response? Don't bother responding. Add a different city in the area to the list of stops instead. After all, the best way to hit people like this where it counts is in the pocket book, and according to the article,Fleet Week attracts about 1 million people to the city's waterfront and pumps about $4 million into the local economy...

Just another example of the narcissistic children of the 1960's who have NEVER GROWN UP, and believe that it is the duty of the unwashed masses to kow-tow to their never-ending piss-and-moan marathon. Best thing the Navy can do is ignore the losers - they don't even warrant a response. Daly and the rest of the Bored of Stuporvisors are a waste of biomass as far as most of us are concerned...
